Well, last night I was frustrated and I was looking for inspiration.  I also veered off on a different path based on a a few blogs I had read and on the pure, raw emotion I was feeling based on previous circumstances of the day.  I want to apologize if I went about things the wrong way. I'd also like to say thank you though to those that inspired me to be a good teacher today!  Thanks everybody.  Thank you Senorita in the City!  Keep on teaching, teachers.

What's in a name?

MissT, or misty because of how public education frustrates me some days? What is in a name?  Being a teacher, I'd prefer for each person to make their own educated guess ;)  I had an emotional day at work.  Not because my emotions were taking control of me, but because I was feeling the emotions of my students and could not instantly fix them.   It is in my nature to want to do this automatically.  Over the years, however, I have find that you cannot fix a students problems...you can however, teach them to accept the problems they have, learn from them, apply whatever they have learned, and show them to move on.

I found blogs here because I was googling "teacher feeling burnt out," and came across this sight.  I was drawn to becoming a member because most of the results I found for "burnt out" were teachers complaining about personally privileges they expected to have as professionals.  Choosing to be in the field of education, or being a teacher, comes with many sacrifices.  Reading the previous blogs, about teachers frustrated by insignificant personal problems, such as the minutes per day they get for breaks, did not come off as encouraging.

If you are a teacher be happy teacher, be happy being a teacher.  If you cannot, find a new job.  You will be helping yourself and possibly a whole generation.

I realize that this blog might come off as negative to some.  However, it is just MissT/misty being an advocate for students that have no choice but to put their life's in our hands, mold what you like from that.
